This podcast is now fixed. Kinda...

In this episode:

  • This podcast is taking a new direction.
  • Audience is split; creators want craft, while marketers crave strategy.
  • A brand new show called B2B Podcasting Insights is launching for the business-minded listeners.
  • Podcasting Insights will still be your creative haven, sans the marketing jargon.
  • Expect shorter, punchy episodes that dive into serious ROI without the fluffy stuff.
  • Next week, we'll chat about why consistency in podcasting might just be overrated.

Speaker A

So if you've been listening for a while, you might have noticed this show's been getting a bit more business y lately.

Speaker A

And if you originally came here for the rants about podcast intros and lazy editing, you've probably been thinking to yourself, mate, when did you turn this show into a LinkedIn Live?

Speaker A

Fair question.

Speaker A

And honestly, that's on me.

Speaker A

Here's what happened.

Speaker A

Podcasting Insights I recently realized I've got two very different audiences who want completely different things.

Speaker A

Half of the audience is made of creators, ex radio hosts and general audio nerds who care about making something worth hearing.

Speaker A

And they just want a little bit of insight from somebody who's got 25 years down doing this stuff.

Speaker A

The other half of the audience, honestly, I don't want to be rude, but are kind of my ideal audiences.

Speaker A

Usually founders, marketers, consultants who are trying to get into podcasting to grow a business.

Speaker A

And the truth is, trying to talk to both audiences through one podcast, well, he just wasn't fair to the overall audience.

Speaker A

So the business podcasting crowd, or as I like to call it, the B2B podcasting guys, now have another show.

Speaker A

It's called B2B Podcasting Insights.

Speaker A

And this show is going to be going out on a different day on a different feed.

Speaker A

And you'll find that feed by searching B2B podcasting insights.

Speaker A

It's very similar to Podcasting Insights in that the format is short, digestible, small chunks of content which will hopefully help you move the needle forward in your own podcasting journey.

Speaker A

But it's more about the strategy side, how podcasts shorten sales cycles, build trust, and actually make you money from what you're doing.

Speaker A

You will find the link to this show in the episode description, but you'll also find it@podnos.co.uk pod podcast.

Speaker A

That's P O-kn O W-dot.co.uk podcast.

Speaker A

Here's one thing I can promise you.

Speaker A

It's not fluffy.

Speaker A

It's not full of tips.

Speaker A

It's just the serious ROI thinking version of this show with maybe slightly fewer sarcastic tangents.

Speaker A

Okay, maybe really slightly fewer.

Speaker A

This feed that you followed and you've come to expect new episodes of each week, Podcasting Insights, well, that stays what it's always been, the creative, honest, occasionally mild, sweary place where I get to unpack why people make the stuff they make and how to make it better.

Speaker A

I'm not going to be talking about marketing funnels.

Speaker A

I mean, I will to a certain extent, because even as a hobbyist podcaster, you.

Speaker A

You still want to know how to grow your show right.

Speaker A

You still want to have something to show for when you turn up each week for this thing, but we're not going to focus heavily on those marketing funnels.

Speaker A

There's going to be no brand speak, just craft clarity and the weird psychology of people with microphones and how you can maybe take steps to get to the next stage of your growth with your podcast.

Speaker A

I'll still be offering the audits.

Speaker A

I'll still be doing all those little bits and pieces that I can do to help you, the indie podcaster, to get further with what you're doing, but on a minimal budget that's not backed by a business.

Speaker A

So if you have been enjoying the more strategic business type episodes, go follow B2B podcasting insights right now.

Speaker A

That's where you're going to find your content.

Speaker A

If you're here for the creative side, the sound, the storytelling, stay put.

Speaker A

You're in the right feed both.

Speaker A

Follow both.

Speaker A

You'll still get the full picture of what podcasting really can do for yourself.

Speaker A

So what next for this show then?

Speaker A

Well, next Thursday, which is the new release day of this show, going to be back with something I've been wanting to say for a while about consistency and why it's one of the most overrated strategies in podcasting.

Speaker A

Look forward to speaking to you then.
